The Start of a 12 month project

This is the start of a 12 month project with Phoebe of Lavender & Lark. I shall be working on an installation that I will install above the window on my landing. It will comprise of the four seasons, woodland creatures, a Green Man and faerie folk! The little people have already started arriving. The first piece is the Faerie door which I'm felting into an old drawer that Phil was using as a tray in his shed. Tess is already checking it out.  I'm working on the tree bark which is very time consuming as I'm felting each piece individually but I'm hoping that it will be quite effective. Finn has taken up residence on the landing and is watching progress with interest!

One Little Piggy went to market . . .

Well sort of! This fellow is now for sale in The Gallery at Beckford Silk.

I went to visit my uncle in Herefordshire last week and he's rearing four beautiful Tamworth pigs.

I had been thinking for a while about needle felting a pig portrait so I took some photos and had a go when I got home.

As always, it's about getting the features right first, the length of the snout, the set of the jaw, the distance between the eyes.

Once the basics are there, then I can start on the details.

You know me! It's all about the eyes! And such intelligent eyes.
