The Start of a 12 month project

This is the start of a 12 month project with Phoebe of Lavender & Lark. I shall be working on an installation that I will install above the window on my landing. It will comprise of the four seasons, woodland creatures, a Green Man and faerie folk! The little people have already started arriving. The first piece is the Faerie door which I'm felting into an old drawer that Phil was using as a tray in his shed. Tess is already checking it out.  I'm working on the tree bark which is very time consuming as I'm felting each piece individually but I'm hoping that it will be quite effective. Finn has taken up residence on the landing and is watching progress with interest!

My Family of Animals

I realised that I have a whole host of animals that haven't yet featured on this blog so I've decided to batch them all together, partly so I have a record of them.

This monkey was my first go at a 3D picture referencing a photo. I was really drawn by the eyes and the expression.

I named this one Herbie in honour of a very fine cockerel of the same name that was my youngest brother Robbie's pet as a child. He was accompanied by a hen called 'the girl'.

This fellow may yet get a blog on his own as I have created him to be raffled off in aid of our local theatre The Playhouse in Cheltenham. More on this later.

This fine lady sold last week. My first sale from The Gallery at Beckford Silk.

This coy little lady is called Cecile!

Harriet the hare . . . .

and finally Freddy the fox!
